The Beginning

Scripture: 1 Samuel 30:6b

“But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God”.

Observation:

David was rejected and denied the right to fight against the enemy. Not only that, but he was in complete distress because the people were talking about stoning him. He was blamed for all the lost souls that were taken from city. However, David did not fret, but instead relied in his God. David gave all his might to God, so that he may strengthen him. As David worships God [8], in reply, God promises the return of all things lost and stolen.

Application:

I need a heart like David. No matter what the situation may be, I need to continue to seek my God. It is my God that strengthens. It is my God who heals. It is my God who provides miracles. NOT ME! This year will be a big one for me and this entry is timely. God is going to return to me all things lost and stolen by the enemy. Old dreams, old visions, old passions, all things used to expand and glorify the kingdom of God. I cannot wait for what God has in store for me this year.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for your word in my life. I pray this word speaks to me throughout the year, that I may pursue a heart like David, a heart that seeks your face even though I may face the toughest moment in my life. Let it be a year of restoration and resurrection of things lost and stolen by the enemy. I love you God. Thank you for your faithfulness in 2010.
